Knights of the Golden Circle treasure map signs have been guarded carefully over the years. The purpose the treasures were hidden and guarded was for the resurgence of the Golden Crescent. Jesse James, often connected with the Knights of the Golden Circle treasure map signs, was indeed raising capital for the resurgence of the South. Several years ago I was privileged to work with a group of treasure hunters that had discovered a contractual agreement between the leaders of the Knights of the Golden Circle, “KGC”, and Jesse James. Jesse was not an outlaw in the traditional sense of the word. He was working for a little under $250.00 per month to rob the Union (‘the bad guys’) and using the money to restore the new world (territories in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean to be included in the United States as slave states) of the Golden Crescent (‘the good guys’).

If you look at it in that respect, you will begin to think more like the KGC people and understand why they did what they did. Then you can understand why the treasures were hidden with a large cache that was protected by the Sentinel and why there were at least 2 small caches for the Sentinel to get paid from if conventional pay wasn’t forthcoming for some reason. This is why there are death traps with the large caches and there are no death traps with the small caches. If you do not understand the death traps of the large caches, I would strongly advise you not to tamper with them. A small cache or two would allow you to live modestly for some time. A large cache may not allow you to live at all. We will discuss death traps in a later article.

One of the reasons that Spanish signs have been altered is due to the theft of over 30 written treasure maps about 1910. These treasure maps were recovered later but in the meantime the on-site signs and symbols from these locations were altered and there are many deceptive signs at the location. Within these deceptions were secret codes to explain the changes to anyone that understood the Knights of the Golden Circle signs and symbols. So when you interpret on-site signs and symbols, you must be advised to look for any drawing, unusual tree formation, rock or picture that is out of sync with the rest of the map figures. This may be the one figure that changes the entire map.

Knights of the Golden Circle treasure maps must be considered in the light of what is unusual on them. Look to see if any letters or words are out of what the context would indicate. For instance, suppose the Knights of the Golden Circle treasure map were written in Spanish. If the entire documentation were recorded in Spanish and signed by one Sven Johnson something is out of place! You must examine closely the name that is out of place. Perhaps begin by assigning a numerical value to each letter within the name. This was a common practice within many cultures. So let’s examine that Swedish-American name in the light of what we have just said.

Now what do we do with this information? This is where trial and error comes in. We may have a distance or a compass degree bearing. This is where the context must be discovered. We may have to add the two sums for 145. We may have to subtract the smaller sum from the larger for a total of 35. We may have a combination of an angle and a distance. Check every possible combination.

This example has been fabricated as an illustration. The point is you must examine that which does not fit the context. I can not drive home enough the importance of the context.

Another example would be a Knights of the Golden Circle treasure map with a short statement on it. Look carefully! You may see a single letter repeated several times but sometimes it is written forward and other times that same letter may be reversed. This can be a reversal, this could be a deletion or what have you according to context.

The Knights of the Golden Circle treasure map is usually written in stone or carved in a tree, literally with no traditional map ever made at all. Knights of the Golden Circle treasure maps reveal signs that are a combination of different styles of recorded information. As far as the actual handwritten maps, very few treasure hunters have ever even seen an actual Knights of the Golden Circle Treasure Map. I have seen, read and decoded several of these KGC treasure maps and find them highly intricate, most unusual and very interesting.

The material that Knights of the Golden Circle Treasure Maps are drawn on varies but most likely is either leather or civil war uniforms (rebel uniforms of course). In one case the map was made from the side of the rebel uniform and included the seam. Surprise, the seam was a symbol on the map although it was in no way highlighted. It had been cleverly designed around the seam as though it were not a part of that map. In truth, it was the direction to the treasure.

Knights of the Golden Circle Treasure Maps were hand drawn maps, that may include simple, childlike drawing of mountains, trees, hoot owl trees, trails, figures, or perhaps one of a series of maps may include a coded description of everything that is hidden. When I say childlike, they are simple line drawings, sometimes called stick drawings that are never complex in style. Many times there is a series of maps for a single area, particularly when there is a repository. I have seen these maps written in Spanish, which easily allows for decoys, reversals and even complete information to show it was previously Spanish.) Remember, the KGC used the Spanish treasure sites (hidden caches of the Spanish, that were hid in anticipation of the impending Indian uprising, and were never found when another generation of Spaniards returned years later) and altered them. They also altered the Spanish with secret codes to show what part of the written information was false. These professional treasure hiders sometimes divided the Spanish treasure and re-hid it in multiple locations sometimes left it in place and altered the Spanish signs. Perhaps you have chased a Spanish treasure to a dead end? Perhaps you were hood-winked by the Knights of the Golden Circle Treasure Maps, that either altered signs or relocated the deposit.

If you believe you have found a Knights of the Golden Circle Treasure Map or KGC treasure site, it is very helpful in cracking the code to see all the physical signs, symbols, rocks or maps before they are moved, altered or destroyed. Knights of the Golden Circle Treasure Maps is a continued series of the most intricate secret society in the history of the US. Understanding the KGC methodology, codes and signs of treasure maps and treasure locations has been “cracked” by the esteemed Dr. John Melancon. Here Dr. Melancon continues his narrative:

In article 1, we introduced the concept of context of treasure sign for the treasure maps of the knights of the golden circle. The layout of a KGC template would always be after a pattern. I have seen them in diamond and circle combination, in squares, in Star of David designs and these patterns may even me multiples that overlay one another. One such sight I interpreted had multiple stars of David in an overlay, where another used a single Star of David and used each point and each place that the lines intersected to hide either treasure or treasure map information. However, interpretation of a template requires large amounts of field work unless you have additional information. Wandering over large areas of land, doing a GPS reading and then doing the waypoints back at the office will still give limited results unless you did enough research to get at least the majority of the waypoints. Two locations on a thirty six waypoint template will reveal very little information. You must find the starting point, at least three locations, understand all of the template designs, understand a good bit of trigonometry and it will still take you some time. The knights of the golden circle were mathematical in their design, with a few interesting decoys, returns, reversals, and depths but if you do the math, apply all of the signs it is pretty accurate to a science rather that a treasure hunting guessing game.

What other context must we use for a more accurate picture? Consider the hoot owl trees, the carved stones laid out in further patterns, the actual maps that were passed down from sentinel to sentinel, the carved names of these Sons of Liberty, the civil war history, and even the context of the knights of the golden circle purpose and organization. Knights of the Golden Circle treasure maps are not created like a normal map, you must first understand it is not the traditional “go ten paces from the palm tree” that Hollywood shows in the movies. You must consider the overview of how the treasures were hidden. Most treasure hunters begin a knights of the golden circle, (KGC), treasure hunt by discovery of a single or combined treasure sign. A single sign is never good for finding a treasure for any site, but especially when we are dealing with the KGC sites. When you interpret KGC data of any kind, it must be considered within the context. If you have a single sign it has little meaning if it stands alone. It may be a reversal sign. It may be a decoy sign, sending you in the wrong direction entirely when you understand the context. It may even be an old Spanish symbol as the KGC left some Spanish treasure in place and reworked the signs to make the Spanish treasure difficult to find. The KGC has always hidden a clue within the reworking of those signs to show they were the ones that reworked them. So let’s get an overview of the Knights of the Golden Circle methods of leaving data behind to identify a KGC site or treasure.

The largest treasure map for a KGC site would be the template. These can be very large, especially in the American southwest and Mexico where you can see for a long distance. They grow shorter in areas such as Missouri or Arkansas where the trees block the long distance view. Many very large symbols are carved into the rocks, sometimes the entire rock is carved into the shape of an animal. Yes, Pedro, the KGC did carve huge turtles as did the Spanish. The KGC also carved symbols into the Spanish turtles to show how they either relocated the treasure or misdirected future treasure hunters. The template can only be interpreted in the context of all of the symbols on the site. You must first locate the starting point. This varies from area to area. Remember, there were many groups that worked within the structure of the Knights of the Golden Circle so each site will vary and must be considered within the context.
